October 21, 2011 Concert – Danielle Miraglia
Danielle Miraglia
Friday, Oct 21, 7:30pm
A strong steady thumb on an old Gibson guitar is the driving force behind Miraglia’s delta blues influenced guitar style. Add a raw, powerful, whiskey tinged voice and one might be tempted to label her a blues artist. But while Miraglia’s style pays homage to these blues traditions, her classic rock verve, catchy melodies and eclectic array of song subjects that range from deeply personal to socially relevant give it an original twist that is all her own. A fresh sound along with a sharp wit and a captivating stage presence is gaining her fans all over the map.

Soup and a Song
Scott Ainslie says things haven’t been the same since he saw John Jackson playing in the middle of a Mike Seeger concert at Groveton High in 1967. From community concert series and local schools to the Kennedy Center and the renowned Empire Music Hall in Belfast, Northern Ireland, he plays and speaks of the music he loves with passion and authority. Combining over 30 years of scholarship and 40 playing guitar, he presents a beguiling mix of the African and American roots of the Blues, in story and song.
